Motorcycle Collision Claims Life in Asheville
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A motorcycle crash resulted in a fatality on New Leicester Highway at Eliada Home Road around 4:23 p.m. on February 13.
According to the Asheville Police Department, Tylor Russell Holzhauser, 27, was riding a 2024 Kawasaki ER650 motorcycle when he collided with a 2013 Toyota Prius operated by Jennifer Louise Saylor, 56. Authorities reported that Holzhauser was attempting to turn left onto Eliada Home Road when the incident occurred.
Holzhauser was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene due to his injuries. Saylor has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and unsafe movement.
Emergency responders closed New Leicester Highway for more than an hour to manage the scene and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
