Motorcycle Collision in Phoenix Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Woman
PHOENIX, AZ — A 25-year-old woman died following a motorcycle crash in Phoenix on Sunday night, according to authorities. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Yorkshire Drive.
Upon arrival, police found Kendra Lenae Harrison suffering from critical injuries. Phoenix Fire crews transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, officials said. Preliminary information from the Phoenix Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit indicates that Harrison was traveling southbound on 27th Avenue when the driver turned left in front of her.
Investigators noted that the driver had been stopped at a red light facing north on 27th Avenue and mistakenly proceeded into the intersection when the light turned green, believing they had a green left-turn arrow. However, that arrow remained red, police stated.
The driver was evaluated for impairment at the scene, but no signs were reported. Authorities emphasized that final charging decisions will be made once a full reconstruction of the collision is completed.
The investigation is ongoing.
