Vernon A. Deas Killed in Richland County Accident on Interstate 20
Richland County, South Carolina (August 25, 2023) – 55-year-old Vernon A. Deas of Sumter was killed in a crash Monday night in Richland County.
The wreck occurred at around 7:10 p.m. August 21 on 20 Freeway near the 76-mile maker.
The police said a 2016 Nissan Versa was legally stopped on the median when a 2020 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Deas rear-ended the car.
Deas was declared dead at the crash site.
The car’s driver was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
No other injuries were reported.
