Jesse Barbosa-Santiago Dies in Wallingford Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 91

Wallingford, Connecticut (July 23, 2023) – Jesse Barbosa-Santiago was killed, and Ilani Barbosa-Santiago was injured after a rear-end crash Sunday in Wallingford.

The crash occurred on Sunday on Interstate 91, a mile north of Exit 41.

Jesse was riding a motorcycle on the freeway when they crashed into the rear-end of a vehicle for unknown reasons before coming to an uncontrolled final rest on the roadside.

Jesse was declared dead at the scene, while their passenger Ilani sustained major injuries and was transported by Wallingford EMS to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment.

The car driver was not injured, and they remained at the scene.

Due to limited available information about the wreck, the police are investigating the crash.
