16-Year-Old Injured in I-94 Crash Near Woodbury Drive.

Woodbury, MN (MinnesotaNow) – A 16-year-old motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in a collision involving three vehicles on Interstate 94 Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Interstate 94 and Woodbury Dr. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, involved vehicles included a Kia SUV, a Hyundai SUV, and a passenger car.

Teen Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-94

Initial reports indicate that all vehicles were traveling eastbound when traffic abruptly stopped. The motorcyclist reportedly swerved left to avoid a collision, but then struck the Hyundai, fell, and was subsequently hit by the Kia and the other car.

Destin Louis Kirchoff Campbell of Pierce was identified as the operator of the motorcycle. He was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other Drivers Remain Uninjured

The drivers of the other vehicles were identified as 34-year-old Angela Christine Hermanson of North St. Paul (Hyundai), 19-year-old Amelia Rose Hoikka of Pierce, WI (Kia), and 66-year-old Glenn Allen Guertin of Wyoming, MN (car). All three drivers, along with their passengers, reported no injuries.

The State Patrol confirmed that alcohol was not a factor and that Campbell was wearing a helmet during the incident. Further investigation is ongoing.
