REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – An 18-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash on Bay Vista Road Thursday afternoon.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. as the rider was operating a Yamaha YZR motorcycle westbound at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle reportedly failed to navigate a sharp left curve, overturned, and collided with a parked Chevrolet Colorado on the roadside.
Emergency medical personnel transported the Rehoboth Beach resident to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
Bay Vista Road was closed for approximately two hours for an investigation and to clear the scene.
