18-year-old motorcyclist dies in crash at Jetport Loop and Treeline Ave. S intersection in Lee County.
LEE COUNTY, Fla. —
An 18-year-old man from Lehigh Acres was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday at approximately 2:03 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the motorcyclist was riding a 1998 Honda at a high speed on Treeline Avenue S when he approached Jetport Loop.
A 68-year-old woman from Fort Myers was driving a 2005 Honda and attempted a left turn onto Jetport Loop, resulting in a collision with the motorcycle.
FHP officials reported the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to a local hospital.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
