Motorcyclist Killed in Tempe Crash Identified as Isaac Wielander
TEMPE, AZ – A 20-year-old motorcyclist, Isaac Wielander, died following a collision on Baseline Road at Mill Avenue on June 20 at approximately 10:30 p.m.
According to authorities, Wielander was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road when a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by 23-year-old Wilson Martin Chavez, failed to yield while exiting Kiwanis Park. The Camaro struck Wielander’s motorcycle.
Emergency responders arrived minutes after the incident and transported Wielander to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Chavez and his passenger were not injured in the crash.
Police reported that Chavez exhibited signs of intoxication at the scene and was arrested. He has since been booked into the city jail and is facing multiple charges.
