Lihu’e, Hawaii (Local News Wire) – A 23-year-old man died following a motorcycle crash on Kaumuali’i Hwy in Lihu’e on January 26, 2025.
The accident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. as the rider was traveling eastbound on a 2008 Honda motorcycle and lost control near Ho’omana Rd. First responders found bystanders administering CPR. He was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Kaumuali’i Hwy was closed in both directions for about two hours while the Kauai Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section investigated the scene. Authorities indicated that speed and weather conditions may be contributing factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
