ABILENE, Texas — Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. on Pine Street.
First responders were dispatched to the 2900 block of Pine Street following reports of a major collision involving a Jeep SUV and a Yamaha motorcycle.
According to police, the motorcyclist, 23-year-old Jordan Vaughn of Abilene, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the Jeep was traveling southbound on Pine Street and attempted to turn east onto Anson Avenue when it collided with the northbound motorcycle.
Authorities said next of kin have been notified and intoxication does not appear to have been a factor.
The Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division is handling the ongoing investigation.
