FALL RIVER MAN DIES IN WESTPORT MOTORCYCLE CRASH
WESTPORT, Mass. — A 29-year-old man from Fall River died late Saturday night following a motorcycle accident, officials confirmed.
At approximately 11:38 p.m., Westport police received a 911 call about a single-motorcycle crash on Main Road. First responders arrived to find a damaged Harley-Davidson motorcycle off the roadway, with the operator, John Soares IV, located about 50 feet away suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported debris from the motorcycle scattered across the road, alongside a telephone pole and a stone wall that were impacted during the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing, according to authorities.
