LOTHIAN, Md. — A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman on Mount Zion Marlboro Road Friday evening.
Emergency responders from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched at approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 25, 2025, to the intersection with Main Street. Due to the nature of the injuries, the department’s Crash Reconstruction Team was activated.
According to authorities, a 2009 Yamaha Star motorcycle was traveling west on Mount Zion Marlboro Road when it collided with a 2012 Honda Accord, which was turning left from Main Street. Witnesses reported that the Honda crossed into the westbound lane, leading to the impact with the motorcycle’s rear quarter panel.
The motorcyclist was thrown from her bike, landing in the roadway. Katrina M. Prieur, of Upper Marlboro, was airlifted by Maryland State Police medevac to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she succumbed to her injuries the next day.
The driver of the Honda Accord, a 20-year-old man from Bowie, was unharmed in the incident.
Authorities stated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
