TORREY, Utah (KUTV) — A 59-year-old German man died in a motorcycle crash on State Route 24 in Wayne County on June 16.
Utah Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. near milepost 89, approximately 15 miles east of Torrey.
The motorcyclist, identified as Udo Hubert Jumpers, was traveling east when he lost control while navigating a turn, leading to his motorcycle leaving the roadway.
Authorities stated Jumpers was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a guardrail. He was wearing a helmet, but sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders temporarily closed SR-24 for about one hour to investigate the crash and clear the area.
