CATAWBA, S.C. (WBTV) – A collision involving two motorcycles on Highway 21 resulted in one fatality on Sunday, April 19, at approximately 5:40 p.m.
The York County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 65-year-old Jeffery Karlsons. According to authorities, Karlsons rear-ended a Harley-Davidson motorcycle while traveling northbound, causing both motorcycles to veer off the road and into a ditch.
Emergency responders pronounced Karlsons dead at the scene. The rider of the Harley-Davidson was transported to a local hospital; their current condition remains unknown.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details on lane closures or tows have been reported at this time.
