Motorcyclist Killed in I-90 Crash in Coeur d’Alene, Investigation Underway.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A 72-year-old Spokane man died following a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 90 at milepost 11 on Friday.

According to Idaho State Police, the collision occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. and involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Ford SUV. A Rathdrum Police Department officer discovered the scene and requested trooper assistance.

The motorcycle rider was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The SUV driver, a 36-year-old man from Sagle, was unharmed.

Westbound I-90 was closed for approximately 45 minutes as emergency personnel responded. One lane reopened shortly after, with all lanes and the ramp resuming normal traffic flow by 4:15 p.m.

Authorities reported that the Idaho Transportation Department and Coeur d’Alene Police Department assisted with traffic control. A Rathdrum officer also participated in the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
