Two Injured in Motorcycle Sideswipe Collision in Richland County
RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D. (KVRR) – Two individuals suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident west of Lidgerwood on May 14 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2005 Buick Park Avenue were traveling westbound on Highway 11 when the collision occurred. The Buick was attempting to pass the motorcycle, which then entered the eastbound lane, leading to a sideswipe.
Both individuals on the motorcycle were ejected and sustained serious injuries; they were transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The 49-year-old male driver of the Harley has been charged with driving under the influence and driving under suspension. His 37-year-old female passenger is not facing any charges.
The 59-year-old driver of the Buick was uninjured and also not charged.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and lane closures were reported during emergency response efforts.
