BRENTWOOD — A motorcyclist died early Wednesday morning after colliding with a car and being ejected into traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at 12:45 a.m. on westbound State Highway 4, just past the Sand Creek Road exit. The motorcyclist, whose identity is pending notification of next of kin, rear-ended another vehicle and was subsequently struck by multiple vehicles.
Authorities confirmed the motorcyclist died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The CHP closed the westbound lanes of Highway 4 for approximately three hours for an investigation. Traffic resumed around 4 a.m.
