Motorcyclist Injured in Cupertino Crash on Interstate 280

CUPERTINO, Calif. (June 26, 2026) — A motorcyclist sustained injuries Friday morning in a collision involving a BMW SUV on southbound Interstate 280 near the Wolfe Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:32 a.m. when the two-vehicle crash was reported. The BMW SUV collided with the motorcycle, leaving the rider on the roadway and blocking the left lane. Emergency responders from the Santa Clara County Fire Department arrived to provide medical aid to the injured motorcyclist.

Authorities have not disclosed the rider’s condition or the factors leading to the crash. The CHP is investigating whether the SUV moved into the motorcycle’s path or if the motorcyclist was speeding or distracted.

The crash led to temporary lane closures, causing delays for motorists. One lane reopened around 12:40 p.m., allowing traffic to gradually resume. Both the damaged motorcycle and the BMW SUV were towed from the scene, with separate tow trucks requested for each vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol urges anyone with information or dash camera footage related to the collision to come forward to assist the investigation.
