Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Sedan in West Omaha

A motorcycle rider died and a car driver sustained injuries in a head-on crash at 204th Street and F Street in West Omaha on Sunday, May 11, shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as Francisco Ramirez, was traveling south on 204th Street when he collided with a sedan that had turned east onto F Street, according to authorities. The exact circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Omaha Police Department detectives.

First responders from Omaha Fire and Rescue arrived within minutes and extinguished flames that had erupted on the motorcycle. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene, while the sedan driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was significantly impacted for several hours as law enforcement and crime scene technicians collected evidence from the area. Nearby residents have begun to leave flowers in remembrance of Ramirez, while community discussions regarding roadway safety have intensified.
