Three Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Adelphi Late Tuesday Night

ADELPHI, MD – Three people are dead and two others injured following a multi-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road on Tuesday night, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 11:25 p.m. to find two cars and a motorcycle involved in the crash. The motorcycle, along with one car, was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue when another vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Metzerott Road, resulting in the collision.

The motorcyclist and two occupants of one vehicle—an adult male and female—were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional individuals in the third vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Authorities reported significant damage at the scene, with debris from the motorcycle scattered across the intersection. One car veered off the roadway, damaging a fence, while the other showed front-end damage.

New Hampshire Avenue remained closed for six hours due to the investigation, reopening around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Prince George’s County Police. This incident marks the second triple-fatal motorcycle crash in the county this week. No charges have yet been filed in either case.

According to Zero Deaths Maryland, Prince George’s County has recorded 34 fatal crashes this year, the highest in the state. State officials have urged drivers to prioritize safety measures while on the road.
