FAIRFIELD — A motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 south in Fairfield claimed the life of a 37-year-old man on Sunday night, police said.
The deceased was identified as Jose M. Bautistasoto of Port Chester, New York. He was pronounced dead after being transported to Bridgeport Hospital, according to Connecticut State Police.
Authorities reported that Bautistasoto was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when he struck the rear of a Honda SUV near the rest area entrance at approximately 10:32 p.m. The impact caused Bautistasoto to be thrown from the bike.
Four individuals — two women and two men — were inside the Honda SUV at the time of the crash, but none sustained injuries, authorities said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The crash is currently under investigation by Connecticut State Police.
