Multiple-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Leaves Several Injured in Santa Clara
SANTA CLARA, CA — A multiple-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near the San Tomas Expressway occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on October 5, resulting in multiple injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved four cars and blocked the right lane of the highway for over an hour. Emergency responders, including the Santa Clara Fire Department, arrived on the scene to provide medical aid.
Authorities confirmed that at least three individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation.
The roadway was partially reopened by 4:30 p.m., but traffic delays persisted as vehicles were towed from the scene. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, authorities said.
Witnesses reported heavy congestion in the area as drivers were advised to seek alternative routes.
