MERIDIAN, Idaho — A motorcycle and box truck collided Monday afternoon at 3:56 p.m., resulting in a fatality at North Locust Grove Road and East Ustick Road.
According to Idaho State Police, an 18-year-old man from Meridian was riding a 2007 Yamaha FZ6 motorcycle northbound when a 2020 Hino 195 box truck, driven by a 34-year-old Caldwell man, attempted a left turn from the southbound lanes. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene from his injuries. The box truck driver, wearing a seatbelt, did not require hospitalization.
The intersection remained closed for approximately five hours for investigation and clearance by emergency crews.
