GULF SHORES, Ala. – A motorcycle crash on Alabama 59 near Clubhouse Drive on Sunday night resulted in the death of the motorcyclist, authorities said.
The collision occurred when a northbound motorcycle struck an SUV that was making a left turn at the intersection. Emergency responders arrived on scene but pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was not injured, according to police. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and reconstructing the events leading up to the crash, noting that speed appeared to be a factor for the motorcycle.
Police indicated they would refrain from releasing the victim’s name for several days as they notify next of kin.
