Motorcyclist killed in crash donates organs, saying “I don’t have no need.”

MECHANICSVILLE, MD — A motorcycle collision in Mechanicsville on Saturday left a 26-year-old man critically injured, prompting his family to consider organ donation.

According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Darius Jackson Jordan was riding his motorcycle on Three Notch Road when another driver failed to yield, resulting in a collision. Jordan sustained life-threatening injuries and severe brain damage.

Emergency responders transported him to MedStar Washington Hospital, where his condition deteriorated over the weekend. Family members gathered on Tuesday night outside the hospital for an honor walk, commemorating his life as he was prepared for surgery to donate his organs and tissue.

“This family believes in life,” his mother, Claulette Jordan, stated. She emphasized her son’s desire to help others, recalling his words about the potential for life beyond his own.

Investigations into the accident are ongoing. No further details about the other vehicle or driver involved have been released at this time.
