Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 72 near Killen Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The victims were identified as 17-year-old Skyler McGee and 20-year-old Katherine McGee, both from Lauderdale County. The collision occurred at approximately 1:49 p.m. near County Road 31.
Killen Police Chief Bill White reported that the motorcycle was traveling when it collided with the pickup truck. Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported by Emergency Medical Services to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
In a statement, the Killen Police Department expressed condolences to the families affected by the crash. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Skyler and Katherine, as well as the family of the pickup truck driver involved in this tragic crash,” the statement said.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
