REGO PARK, Queens (WABC) — A motorist has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Woodhaven Boulevard on April 2.
Authorities said 42-year-old Jordan Rosen intentionally collided with 55-year-old William McField’s motorcycle while driving a 2024 BMW SUV. The incident happened around 9:20 a.m. as Rosen was exiting the Long Island Expressway and McField was negotiating traffic on a 2023 KTM motorcycle.
According to police, McField attempted to navigate a red light and was struck from behind by Rosen’s SUV, which continued to move southbound after the impact. Surveillance footage shows that the SUV subsequently collided with another vehicle, potentially causing an explosion as McField was dragged under the SUV.
McField was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 41-year-old woman, sustained no injuries.
Rosen has also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and reckless driving. If convicted, he faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with Rosen currently in custody following his indictment by a grand jury.
