MONROE COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) — A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 44-year-old woman on Saturday afternoon on Georgia Highway 19.
The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. south of Hill Road, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
The victim, identified as Katie Sykes of Forsyth, was the sole occupant of the motorcycle.
MCSO reports that the cause of the crash is under investigation. No other vehicles were involved.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but Sykes was pronounced dead at the site.
Authorities indicated that further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
