A Murrysville motorcyclist was killed Thursday night after colliding with a pickup truck in Loyalhanna Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Peter Devey, 59, died at the scene of the crash that occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Waukeena Road. Authorities said Devey was riding in the left lane when he struck a Ford F-250 pickup truck, which was making a left turn onto County Road.
Devey was ejected from his BMW motorcycle during the collision. The Westmoreland County Coroner confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time. The driver of the pickup truck sustained no injuries.
Emergency responders arrived to assist, and the roadway was closed while an investigation commenced. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
