TAYLORSVILLE — A motorcycle operator died Sunday evening after a collision with a vehicle fleeing a prior accident.
At 6:06 p.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred at 5400 South and Redwood Road, according to Lt. Aaron Cheshire with the Taylorsville Police Department.
An adult male driver involved in the initial accident left the scene and subsequently struck a motorcycle at 5400 South and Warrior Way, Cheshire confirmed.
The motorcycle rider, also an adult male, died at the scene. The suspect fled, but a witness tracked the vehicle.
Police located and arrested the suspect near 6200 South and Redwood Road, Cheshire reported.
Authorities are investigating potential impaired driving as a factor in the incidents.
No other individuals reported injuries, and the extent of any injuries to the suspect is unknown.
5400 South between Redwood Road and 1300 West was closed for several hours following the incident.
