LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A motorcycle crash in Lynchburg on April 17 resulted in the death of the rider.
At 11:43 p.m. in the 4500 block of Fort Avenue, the motorcycle was reportedly traveling at a high speed when it collided with two vehicles, according to the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD).
The rider, identified as 34-year-old Michael Gravelle II of Campbell County, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that no other injuries were reported among the occupants of the other vehicles involved.
LPD is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
In a statement, police extended their condolences to Gravelle’s family and friends during this difficult time.
