Fatal Crash in Middle Township Claims Life of Local Man
A collision involving a motorized bike and two vehicles in Middle Township resulted in the death of 57-year-old Albert MacFarlane.
According to authorities, the crash occurred on Route 47 in the Rio Grande section. MacFarlane was traveling southbound when a Ford Bronco attempted a left turn onto School Lane and collided with him, causing him to be ejected from his bike. He was then struck by a Hyundai Veloster, also traveling south on Route 47.
Emergency responders transported MacFarlane to Cooper Cape Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of both the Ford Bronco and Hyundai Veloster were unharmed.
Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Route 47 for approximately three hours for investigation and cleanup. The Cape May County Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
