Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 18-Year-Old in Meridian, Idaho
A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a box truck occurred at approximately 3:56 p.m. on Monday, April 6, at the intersection of North Locust Grove and East Ustick Road in Meridian, Idaho.
According to the Idaho State Police, an 18-year-old male motorcycle rider from Meridian was traveling northbound on a blue 2007 Yamaha FZ6 when he was struck by a white 2020 Hino 195 box truck. The box truck, driven by a 34-year-old male from Caldwell, was turning left onto Ustick from the southbound lanes of Locust Grove.
Witnesses reported that the vehicles collided in the intersection. Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcycle rider died at the scene. The box truck driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained no injuries in the incident.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash, and traffic cameras at the intersection may provide relevant evidence. The accident resulted in lane closures that impacted traffic for approximately five hours.
