HIXSON, TN—A 19-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash on Highway 153 in Hixson on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., a motorcycle collided with an SUV that was turning across the southbound lanes into a parking lot in the 5700 block of Highway 153. The SUV subsequently struck a parked vehicle. Emergency personnel from HAMILTON COUNTY EMS pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.
The Chattanooga Police Department confirmed an investigation is ongoing. Traffic delays were reported as southbound lanes were closed, but all lanes have since been reopened as of 5:20 p.m.
Witnesses familiar with the victim identify him as Riley Hairsine, a passionate motorcyclist. Friends described him as a generous spirit who was beloved by those around him.
