TOWN OF GILMANTON, Wis. (WEAU) – One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in Buffalo County on May 30, 2026.
According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:56 p.m., authorities responded to a motorcycle incident on Highway 37 near Steiner Road.
A 56-year-old man was riding southbound when he lost control while navigating a curve. He sustained life-threatening injuries.
Emergency personnel treated the man at the scene, and he was transported via Mayo One air ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash is under investigation, and authorities confirmed it is the third speed-related motorcycle fatality in Buffalo County this riding season.
Sheriff Michael Osmond emphasized the dangers of speed, urging riders to prioritize safety during the season. “Taking a few extra seconds to slow down can save a life,” he stated.
