On June 15, 2026, at approximately 10:41 p.m., a fatal motorcycle crash occurred on northbound I-69 near the 297 mile marker, prompting a response from the ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT and INDIANA STATE POLICE.
Authorities said a blue Ford Fusion was in the process of passing other vehicles when it was struck from behind by a blue motorcycle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. After the impact, the motorcycle veered into the median and collided with the cable barrier.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the operator has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The roadway has since been cleared, but traffic remains slow in the area as emergency personnel complete their investigation. Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through the scene.
The incident is still under investigation by the ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT.
