Ames Woman Dies Following Motorcycle vs. Pedestrian Accident
Ames, IA – An accident involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian resulted in a fatality on Main Street at 6:45 p.m. on October 7.
Authorities reported a 28-year-old woman was struck while crossing the roadway. She sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old motorcyclist involved was unharmed but was treated for shock by emergency medical personnel.
The Ames Police Department, along with Fire and Rescue personnel, responded promptly to the scene. Main Street was closed in both directions for multiple hours to allow for an investigation and the removal of the vehicles.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and are urging witnesses to come forward with any information. No charges have been filed at this time.
