ADAIR COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 51 in Adair County claimed the life of an Arkansas man on Tuesday.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at approximately 5:15 p.m. near S. 4660 Rd.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Joshua Silvar, of Hot Springs, was riding a motorcycle in the westbound lanes when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a non-passing zone.
Officials stated that Silvar’s motorcycle collided with a car traveling in the eastbound lane.
In an attempt to avoid the initial collision, another westbound vehicle struck Silvar’s motorcycle.
Silvar sustained critical injuries from the accidents and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the incident. No further details about injuries to other involved parties or any lane closures were reported.
