NEWPORT, Ky. —
The body of a motorcyclist who collided with a stationary vehicle on the Taylor Southgate Bridge has been recovered after being thrown into the Ohio River.
The crash occurred on Saturday night, leading to the closure of the bridge for nearly five hours as first responders conducted an investigation.
Newport Police confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist on Sunday evening and notified their family. Authorities noted that witnesses reported erratic driving and suspected the individual was using a cell phone prior to the incident.
