Braga Bridge Reopens Following Hospitalization of Rider from Wrong-Way Motorcycle Crash.

All lanes of the Braga Bridge reopened Saturday evening following a serious motorcycle accident involving a wrong-way driver.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police were assisting a disabled vehicle on Interstate 195 eastbound when a motorcyclist allegedly sped through traffic.

Investigators said the rider made a U-turn and began traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes, colliding with a police cruiser and another vehicle.

Authorities reported the motorcyclist exited the bike and ran into westbound lanes, where he was struck by an additional vehicle.

The rider, a 32-year-old man from Westerly, Rhode Island, sustained significant injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, officials confirmed. His name has not been released.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, causing traffic disruptions as investigators gathered evidence. Debris, including motorcycle parts and personal belongings, was scattered across the bridge.

The crash remains under investigation, with authorities reviewing video evidence and witness accounts.
