A Buena Vista man died early Thursday morning after his motorcycle struck a deer in Bedford County.
According to Virginia State Police, Harald Dee Hiser Jr., 64, was traveling north on Route 501 near the intersection of Route 841 at 1:20 a.m. when the incident occurred. Hiser succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. The roadway was not closed for an extended period. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the accident.
