Chase Dagen Identified as Victim in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Cumberland County.

Boiling Springs Motorcyclist Dies After Route 74 Crash

A fatal motorcycle accident in South Middleton Township claimed the life of an 18-year-old man on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 8:48 p.m.

Chase Dagen was riding north on York Road/Route 74 when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto Valley Street, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The crash occurred in a 35 mph zone in clear conditions, but it was dark at the time, despite the presence of street lights.

Dagen suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at Holy Spirit Hospital after being treated at the scene by Cumberland Goodwill Fire and EMS. An autopsy determined the cause of death as accidental, and authorities reported no signs of alcohol or drug involvement for either driver. Dagen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A GoFundMe supporting Dagen’s family has raised nearly $28,000 of its $40,000 goal, with contributions from over 340 donors. The fundraiser aims to assist with funeral and medical expenses as the family copes with their loss.

The crash remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
