GREENSBORO, N.C. (WBTV) – A motorcycle crash on I-40 in Greensboro resulted in the death of a 20-year-old college football player on April 11.
According to WFMY, Kelvin Broadhurst Jr. lost control of his Ducati motorcycle and collided with a guardrail. Emergency services responded, but Broadhurst was pronounced dead at the scene.
Broadhurst was a defensive lineman at North Carolina A&T University, where he recorded 31 tackles and 1.5 sacks over 28 games from 2023-2025. He was preparing for his fourth season with the Aggies.
Authorities confirmed Broadhurst was from Spartanburg, S.C., and was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. The organization released a statement celebrating his contributions and commitment to brotherhood.
Broadhurst was also a dedicated student pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. NC A&T held its annual spring game just hours prior to the crash. The team’s regular season is set to begin on August 29 against Morgan State in Greensboro.
