Ronnie Bowman, renowned country music and bluegrass artist, dies following motorcycle crash in Ashland City, TN.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, resulting in Bowman, 64, being transported to Vanderbilt Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to authorities, the crash involved a motorcycle. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene promptly; however, details regarding the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
Bowman, a native of Mount Airy, North Carolina, began his musical career in 1987 with The Lost and Found. He later performed with the Lonesome River Band from 1990 until 2021, contributing to their acclaimed 1991 album “Carrying the Tradition,” recognized as IBMA Album of the Year.
As a solo artist, he released six albums, starting with “Cold Virginia Night” in 1994. He earned multiple IBMA awards, including three for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Cold Virginia Night” in 1995.
Bowman was also a notable songwriter, collaborating with Chris Stapleton on songs like “Nobody to Blame” and “Outlaw State of Mind.” His contributions to the industry include writing hits for renowned artists such as Lee Ann Womack and Kenny Chesney.
