DANBURY — A 31-year-old man died following a motorcycle collision on Newtown Road on July 16, city police confirmed.
The victim, identified as Phillipe Silva of Danbury, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, according to a police department news release. Authorities reported that they were informed of Silva’s passing on Monday.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. when a Kia Forte, making a left turn into a private driveway, was struck by Silva’s motorcycle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed. Silva was transported to the hospital in critical condition following the crash.
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing, police said.
