MUNCIE, IN — A 35-year-old man was killed Monday evening in a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi on Indiana 28 in Delaware County.
Authorities reported the incident occurred at 9:38 p.m. near the Petro Travel Center, east of Interstate 69.
The victim, identified as Brennan Lee Rhoades of rural Selma, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gary Vannatta, Chief Deputy Coroner of Delaware County.
According to Chief Deputy Jeff Stanley of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, the semi was turning northbound into the travel center when it entered the path of Rhoades’ westbound motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
The semi driver, a female from North Carolina, is cooperating with investigators. A third vehicle traveling eastbound may have encountered debris from the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s crash reconstruction team. Emergency responders included Delaware County deputies, Daleville police, Gaston firefighters, and the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency.
