ELKTON, Md. — A 17-year-old girl from Wilmington, Delaware, died Sunday following a motorcycle crash in Cecil County.
Maryland State Police reported the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when two motorcycles, a Kawasaki and a Yamaha, were traveling south on Maryland Route 213 at Leeds Road. The 19-year-old male driver of the Kawasaki attempted to overtake the Yamaha but collided with its side.
The teenage passenger of the Kawasaki was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities confirmed that the Yamaha’s driver was not injured in the crash.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
