PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WJAR) — A motorcycle crash on Friday afternoon left a rider seriously injured in Portsmouth.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:18 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Road and Stringham Road.
The motorcycle was reportedly making a left turn onto West Main Road when it was struck by a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Lesslie McDowell.
McDowell was arrested on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.
The motorcycle operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the crash is still under investigation.
