A 29-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash late Saturday night in Westport.
John Soares IV, a Fall River resident, was involved in the accident around 11:30 p.m. at 178 Main Road, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Westport Police and EMS found a Harley Davidson motorcycle off the roadway, significantly damaged. Soares was located approximately 50 feet from the motorcycle with life-threatening injuries.
He was pronounced dead on scene.
Witnesses reported damage to a utility pole and a stone wall near the crash site, as indicated in the DA’s statement.
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, in conjunction with the Westport Police Department, is investigating the incident.
