Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Delaware County on Monday Evening
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — A motorcycle crash claimed one life on State Road 28 on Monday at approximately 8:50 p.m.
According to the DELAWARE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, the incident occurred when a semi-tractor-trailer was turning into a truck stop while a motorcycle approached from the opposite direction. The semi entered the motorcycle’s path, resulting in a collision.
The motorcycle driver, a 32-year-old Selma resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, a 45-year-old from North Carolina, remained on-site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
A third vehicle reported minor contact with debris, but no injuries were recorded from that vehicle.
The DELAWARE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE’s crash reconstruction team is investigating the incident. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
